SPIE and Photonics Media Announce 2020 Prism Award Finalists
“The Prism Award finalists are the standard-bearers of innovation for the photonics industry. This year’s honorees all share one thing in common: They are shaping the world of tomorrow in ways that would seem unfathomable a decade ago,” said Laurin Publishing CEO and Photonics Media President Tom Laurin.
The best of photonics innovation will be recognized on 5 February at SPIE Photonics West grand finale (“the Oscar of the Photonics”).
Prisma Photonics, founded in 2017, is developing next generation fiber sensors for smart infrastructure (for example: perimeters, highways, railroads, power-lines, pipelines, optical networks, etc.). Prisma-Photonics’ platform is a new approach (patent pending) to Fiberoptic Sensing, enabling ultra-sensitive detection and intelligent learning detection unit targeting to revolutionize the Fiberoptic Sensing market by increasing dramatically the detection sensitivity and the target classifications capabilities, reducing significantly false alarm rate, and allowing to use already installed optical communication fibers as sensors.
About Prism Awards:
The Prism Awards is an annual international competition that honors the best new optics and photonics products on the market. Since 2008, SPIE, along with media partner Photonics Media, has presented awards to companies and individuals that are creating products that make a difference, solve problems, and improve life through photonics.
